Hero
From Atlantica Wiki
A Hero is the main character's unit in a player's formation. If the hero dies, then the player loses the fight, regardless of if any mercenaries are still alive. The type of Hero that a player has is decided by which weapon they chose when creating their character. Heroes' skills do not directly correspond to any one mercenary.

[edit] Melee classes
Melee classes have more hit points and higher physical defense than the other main classes but lower magic defense. Exclusive melee skills include: Guard Dispel and Break Down.
[edit] Sword
Sword Heroes can only attack one enemy at a time, but have a shield to defend themselves from their foes' attacks with, unlike other Heroes. They are the only main class that can use a shield, which gives them excellent defense. Their skills include Flame Sword, Guard Dispel, Deadly Strike, Dark Seed, Break Down and, at level 100, Chaos Edge .
[edit] Spear
Spear Heroes can strike the first two enemies in a column, dealing half damage to the second target. Although their defense is low for a melee fighter, their attack power is high and their Lightning Spear skill eats away at their enemies' AP.
[edit] Axe
Axe heroes can strike an enemy, and also hit foes horizontally adjacent to them, though for less damage. They do not gain AP as quickly as other classes and are weak against magic, but their high health counterbalances this, giving them generally good resistance to enemies' physical attacks. Their Freezing Axe magic can freeze a complete row of enemies for several turns, leaving them unable to move or attack.
[edit] Maniac
Maniacs wield powerful chainsaws as their weaponry, which strikes in the same way as an axe, though generally for more damage. With a high magic defense that exceeds all of the melee classes, the maniac has impressive survivability. Their Chainsaw Blade skill deals damage to the entire enemy party at once. You must have at least one character at or above level 100 to create a Maniac.
[edit] Ranged classes
Range classes have high dexterity but low hit points with decent physical/magic defense. The only exception to this is the Cannoneer who has higher hit points. Exclusive skill: Chaos Wind.
[edit] Gun
A Gun Hero's bullets tear through the enemy ranks, hitting an entire column of foes. The enemy in front absorbs most of the damage, reducing the amount taken by those behind them. Gunners also get the Wild Shot skill for when they need to deal a quick bit of extra damage.
[edit] Bow
Bow Heroes are master snipers, able to strike any target in the enemy formation for high damage, which is increased even more with the right arrows. While their high evasion helps them avoid enemy attacks, their low health and defense make them vulnerable. By using their Silence magic, they can stop a row of enemies from using magic of their own.
[edit] Cannon
Cannon Heroes bombard their enemies with cannonballs, striking foes in a cross pattern. Though they are slower than others, they have significant stun output, and their Deep Insight magic reveals enemy health. Both of these make them very valuable to a party.
[edit] Musician
Wielding a guitar to fight with the power of rawk, the Musician Hero can strike like a Spearman, but with the sniping capability of an Archer. They have low defense, but possess powerful Damage Over Time (DoT) skills to compensate. Their Ravaging Melody has debuffs similar to Deep Insight, but does not reveal health.
[edit] Caster classes
[edit] Staff
Their foes may scoff at their low stats and ineffective basic attacks, but as a magic user they have the ability to master a wide variety of spells. They can also equip an Orb, which increases their attack power and intelligence. In their later levels, they truly become a force to be reckoned with. They replenish their allies' health with Blessing of Life magic, as well as Evanescent Scud to deal damage to an entire enemy party at once.
