The Shaman has devoted herself to doing the will of the gods. Her physical attacks aren't very powerful, but her magic ranges from healing spells to damaging hexes to chants that send your mercenaries into a Berserker rage.
Her Blessing of Life restores health, while Hex of Darkness inflicts damage over time on two targets. Brutal Will gives a huge boost to attack power, action power, and multi-hit rate, though you lose control over mercenaries it affects.
You can have as many of this mercenary as you like.
The Shaman is the lowest ranking level healer mercenary you can recruit via a quest. She has decent skills, but her healing gets less effective at higher levels. See the healers page for all healer characters.
Blessing of Life restores health to a single target (no upgrade) and later a row (after upgrade); Hex of Darkness inflicts damage over time on two targets and can be combined with the Swordsman's Dark Seed to invoke Hell Flame; Brutal Will increases a row's Accuracy and Multi-Hit rate, but they will automatically use basic attacks every turn, and the player can't control the characters until the buff is removed; Noble Sacrifice heals the entire formation in exchange for killing off the Shaman.
She's directly interchangeable with the Oracle, having roughly the same moveset; while the Oracle has more effective skills, the Shaman has cheaper skills and ranks. If the player feels they can comfortably affort the Oracle's cost, then it's better to make the switch.
Formation Tip: The Shaman is the first Healer mercenary you can hire. She can heal only one character at first, but when upgraded she can heal 3 at once. She is important to have to prevent any of your characters from being killed. She can also send a couple of characters into a berserk frenzy with brutal will increasing their attack power gain and combo rate. Mercenaries under the effect of brutal will will take damage every turn, consume a small amount of mana to perform an action, and the player will not be able to control them. Her Action Power gain is low, but can be boosted by the Exorcist's speed cast ability. Staff mercenaries can also hit both flying and ground enemies.
Basic Attack Edit
- You can recruit Shamans after level 5 from NPCs Jang Gil San, Ou Yang Feng, Shuichi or Im Guk-jung for 5,000 gold.
- Can be found wandering around in towns or on roads and recruited on the spot. Hiring a wandering mercenary, however, will most likely cost more than recruiting one from the recruiter NPCs.
